Mastic is the name given to the aromatic natural resin extracted from the trunk of the mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus var. chia), which is traditionally cultivated in South Chios and is produced in "drops" or "tears". The so-called "tears" are whitish-yellow in color and are translucent at first, while as they age they acquire a more yellowish and opaque color.

Chios mastic has been recognized as a natural medicine as it has many properties that contribute to the proper functioning of the body. At the same time, it is used in cooking and confectionery, to flavor creams, royal icing and various sweets. It is also used to prepare a delicious digestive liqueur. Furthermore, mastic oil is also used in furniture making and in the manufacture of musical instruments.

Natural Chios mastic is 100% organic and can be used in all types of diets (vegan, pescetarian etc).

If your order is for delivery in Greece, delivery days are 1 to 3 days. If your order is for delivery abroad, it depends on the volume of products and the country of delivery.

During checkout, you can add in the comments of your order that the order is for gift wrapping or part of the order (e.g. 2 products) and we will send you -free of charge- a paper bag with the Kottatis brand name, a change card and a ribbon to prepare your gift. The reason we never send gifts pre-wrapped is a) so that you can see the product you ordered up close and b) because there is a risk of damage to the packaging during transport by the courier company.
